Richard Tirado

Richard Tirado is a graduate of UCLA, where he majored in Biology and minored in Anthropology. His personal experience with ulcerative colitis has shaped his interest in the brain-gut-microbiome connection and inspired his passion for understanding how biological, psychological, and social factors, including stress and trauma, can influence health and disease.

He is currently a medical student at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, College of Medicine. Richard aspires to become a physician who combines scientific knowledge with his personal experiences to provide compassionate, whole person care. His interests include gastroenterology, the effects of stress and adversity on health, and the role of the brain-gut-microbiome system in promoting long term well-being.
