In this section, we list products that for various reasons I feel strongly about supporting. For some of the listed companies/products, I am on their scientific advisory board, for others I participate in their affiliate program. With some of them, I have no affiliation but am a strong supporter. If any of our posts are related to one of these commercial entities, I will always disclose it in the respective post. We will be adding new companies and products with time.
I am endorsing Mahana’s Digital Therapeutics approach which uses internet delivered, FDA-approved state of the art cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to reduce irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms. My support is based on the fact that conventional CBT is a well-established and effective treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and that Mahana makes this cost-effective IBS treatment available to everybody, everywhere via the internet.

I am endorsing Pendulum’s evidence-based approach to use a consortium of patented microbes (called Glucose Control) to treat type 2 diabetes. Pendulum showed in a randomized controlled proof of concept study, that regular consumption of Glucose Control led to a statistically significant reduction in Hg A1C, and in postprandial blood sugar spikes.

I’ve partnered with Seed because I strongly believe in the company’s transparent and evidence-based approach to develop their flagship DS-01TM Daily Synbiotic—a combination of 24 clinically and scientifically-studied validated probiotic strains and a novel non-fermenting prebiotic, punicalagin, sourced from Indian Pomegranate. The DS-01TM was formulated for benefits in and beyond the gut—supporting digestive health, gut immune function, gut barrier integrity, skin health, cardiovascular health, and micronutrient synthesis. Several high-quality clinical trials with prestigious academic partners are underway to generate additional data related to IBS symptomology and post-antibiotic recovery. Seed is not only committed to transparency, education, and evidence-based information regarding its products, but the overall goal of the company is to pioneer applications of microbes to support the One Health concept with health benefits that consider both humans and the planet.

I want to bring awareness to Le Corti Dei Farfensi’s extra virgin olive oil not only because it is made from centuries-old olive trees and it tastes delicious, but because the process they follow to produce this oil puts both our own health as well as the planet’s health as a priority. I have visited the place where these olives are harvested, and can attest to the uniqueness of this oil by observing the production process from the picking of the olives, to the pressing of the oil.
Drawing on the ancient wisdom of the Farfensi monks who have lived for centuries in the territory, they chose to adopt certified organic production methods. No indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources; no use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or hormones. Instead, in the same spirit as the monks, they have been cultivating in harmony with the environment and the cyclical principle that everything in nature comes and goes. Learn more here!
